You Belong Here
A quiet place to meet yourself.
If you’ve ever felt like you lost track of who you are –
or never quite got the chance to find out –
you’re in the right place.
STORY MINING
There’s a version of you that’s lost –
or that never got the chance to fully surface.
Enmeshed in the constant, exhausting state of high alert and tiptoeing through your life for fear of causing a problem, you’ve come to realize that you’ve made yourself small and manageable and quiet so someone else’s needs and wants were the only ones that registered. You’ve become an afterthought in your own life and lost track of who you actually are – or maybe you never got the chance to find out in the first place. Either way, it’s a somber realization – one that will require some unraveling.
Story Mining is a gentle method of reflection for people unearthing their true selves – after, or within, an abusive relationship. It was built from lived experience, by someone who has been exactly where you are.
The method was. born there, within that story, because that’s the story I lived. But the same three things that take the room to become yourself – someone else’s control, danger, and chaos – aren’t only found with a partner. They can be with a family member. A boss. A group you couldn’t leave…
If your story was with a partner, everything in The Mini Dig for women after, or within, an abusive relationship speaks directly to you in the language it was written in. If your story took another shape, or the “she” and “her” throughout isn’t how you’d tell it, The Mini Dig for anyone after, or within, a controlling or harmful relationship offers the same seven reflections, opened up to meet you where it actually happened.
Both ask the same questions. Choose the one that sounds like it’s talking to you.
You are held here.
IS THIS FOR YOU?
You may recognize yourself here.
Maybe you came to your relationship young – before you’d had the chance to figure out who you were, what you believed, and what you wanted for your own life. Maybe someone’s dominance eroded your existing sense of self. Maybe you felt, somewhere underneath everything you’ve survived, like you lost the thread that leads back to you.
Whether you’re still inside it, or finally far enough away to look back – you belong here. Story Mining will meet you exactly where you are.
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
“This is so beautifully done. Really. Truly. You have such a gorgeous
and solid way of seeing how the person has been affected by the
relationship they are/were in. Your warmth, calm, wisdom and ability
to hold the truth comes through so well.”
